This project included a large extension and refurbishment of a secondary school located in Reading. The extension was to the side of the existing school’s original building located within a conservation area. The extension allowed for the creation of twelve classrooms, administration areas as well as a reception space all located over three stories.

All of the classrooms were designed to be naturally ventilated, and the construction materials and design have allowed for the building envelope to achieve very good thermal performance measures. This has allowed for efficient and well-designed spaces for education to be created. The design of the school extension works well with the existing structure.
